Twelve enthusiastic walkers made our way through residential streets in Montgomery to Bowmont Park . The beauty of the Bow River valley immediately engaged our senses as we climbed slightly to a constructed view point.. Good to know: Bowmont Park has lots of off-leash areas for dogs to play at, including fenced and unfenced areas. The Park has a variety of landscapes from prairie grassland to riverine forest, and dramatic cliffs with interesting geological features. Trails aren't terribly well marked, and the park can be a bit difficult to navigate.

Bowmont Park is a 164 Ha natural area in Calgary's NW. It is bordered by Home Road, the Bow River, Nose Hill Drive and the community of Silver Springs. People have been walking up and down the slope between Silver Springs and the river for decades, and lots and lots of singletrack has been formed. There are good trails and not so good trail.

You can walk where there are paved parts or more remote spots with unofficial trails. You can walk by yourself OR where all the bikes and dog walkers go.

There is a "waterfall" at the end of a km long Boardwalk.
